In the era, Jesus mourned the relegation of women to service. Related parables are obscure: “Heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed 33 pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough.” [Matt. 13:33]
What should we make of this?
First, with water, the mixture becomes dough. Jesus offered the “waters of life” [John 4:10], and then his body as the bread of life [John 6:35].
Second, we turn to Rev. 12, where it is said that the Sacred Mother sends her children out to resist the serpent.
Finally, in Rev. 22, the waters of life flow into the Tree of Life, whose leaves bring “healing to the nations.” Jesus brings the water, so the Tree of Life must be the Bride.
The work cannot be completed unless her daughters accept her.
