Much chatter on social media about a $7 million Super Bowl ad that asserts “Jesus gets us.” Putting aside whether the money could have been used to better purpose, what about the theology? Is being understood the foundation of the sacred relationship?
Or does it go deeper than that?
Jesus permeates creation, so He “contains us.” He walked on the earth and taught those he called brothers and sisters: to “prepare us.” As exemplar, He exuded an irresistible authority but promised to “serve us.”
Heaven is a place in which every thought is a reality. To walk securely in the Garden of the Holy Mind requires the discipline to be concerned first for others, lest “you fall.”
Notice that in the Aramaic, “Yeshua” evokes the universal affirmative in English. To receive his wisdom, you must say “Yes” to his moderation.
