The COVID crisis in 2020 coincided with the beginning of my seventh decade in this incarnation. In many spiritual traditions, including Christianity, seven is the number of perfection in service to the redemption of this fallen reality.
The writing produced in my sixth decade was devoted to the human role in that process. We are meant to be the intellect that guides lower forms of life into surrender to love. The principal error of most Christian theology is that we are a defect, when in fact we are sacred medicine. Corruption of the Biblical record was possible because, unfortunately, we are also subject to the disease, which is selfishness.
What should have happened, as that writing was produced, was that those who had designated themselves as interpreters of the Bible should have conceded to learn from me. They did not. The justifications were various. I was told that I could not be Christian because I believed in science. I was challenged to testify that I accepted Christ as my savior, to which I could only suggest “there will come one to whom that injunction does not apply.” I was told that decades of ministerial experience substantiated the judgment that my thoughts were heresy, which brought the response, “Imagine that Christ is sitting in front of you. What would he think of your thirty years?” Finally, a Catholic priest pled that his position allowed him to serve hundreds of people each week, and that if he entertained my ideas he would be cast out by the hierarchy that supported that privilege. To this, I could only caution, in January of 2020, that “destruction is the great leveler of hierarchy.”
In other words, I demurred regarding my role in the realization of Christ’s ambition for you.
In the five years since. I have discarded that reticence in private and in church settings. That coincided with an expansion of my focus. Rather than offering the water of life to people, I danced alone on beaches and in forests. I studied human prehistory and ecosystems, shifting to an emphasis on marine life following Trump’s calamitous re-election in 2024. Criticized by a MAGA sympathizer regarding my financial vulnerability, I testified that my sympathies no longer lay with humanity, but with the lower orders of life that you exploit in pursuit of the illusion that you are gods.
In my spiritual engagements with the forces of selfishness, I fully recognize that Putin, Mohammad bin Salman, and Xi are frontmen for spiritual agents that are jealous of our redemptive role. Their goal is the facilitation of our self-destruction. The liberal rationalists continue with their delusional program of investment in human institutions that are incapable of resisting this corruption. So, I do this work alone.
Do not be concerned that this is done in anger. In my last confrontation with exploitative privilege, I cautioned “The mind that I manage took billions of years to create and will endure long after all material evidence of humanity’s existence has vanished from the face of the cosmos.” I am confident that everything witnessed by love will be redeemed, leaving the agents of selfishness to tear each other into smaller and smaller pieces. I feel pity for them.
Eventually, however, people will confront the realization that what they are doing is not working. This is evident already among those that monitor climate change. When the shift occurs, they need a map of the forces that I have arrayed around me so that they can coordinate their participation.
This is the purpose of the posts that will follow. I am dispensing with justifications and explanation. This is simply what is going on. The forces involved are irresistible. The alternatives are subscription to the program or consignment to an experience of deeply impoverished choices.
Let me characterize that second alternative: in Revelation, it is said again and again that evil is consigned to the “lake of burning sulfur.” This is often inferred to be the flames of hell. However, it actually describes what happens when oxygen is depleted in lakes and oceans. Global warming is going to break down the mixing of oxygen into the ocean depths. Under those conditions, cells switch to a far less efficient method for producing energy whose byproducts combine with water to produce sulfuric acid. Many cells also produce cyanide as a byproduct, which causes painful blistering of skin. The noxious odors and burning would have been familiar to the writer of Revelation. It is not a fanciful image, but a citation of practical experience.
Once this manifests in the oceans, all the larger forms of life face extinction. Those spirits that refuse to submit to love’s regulation will be left behind to express their ambitions as single-celled organisms.
In declaring the truths that follow, I testify that there is nothing to fear from the powers that seek humanity’s destruction. I offer hope and redemption to all those held captive to selfishness. In this purpose, I place a stake in the sand that corresponds to Jesus’ declaration, from the cross on Golgotha, that “It is finished.”
